Wondrous Wednesdays: the Creative Cave part 2

When I last left you, I was mired in yarns and pictures and beads…oh my!

I am still mired, but not in quicksand any longer.

This last week afforded me time to sort through reams of magazine pictures which have systematically been sorted, trimmed, resorted and filed in appropriate categories: colors (by name); textures, prints, stripes, florals, dresses, evening, separates, coats and jackets, shoes/boots, accessories, weaving, hats, furs, all categories of jewelry, and gloves. Two small and one large expanding portable file system now holds these treasures and inspirations.

Next up to bat: family pictures, school mementos, souvenirs and leftovers from scrapbooks lovingly fashioned for each of our children about 5 years ago. Fortunately, most of this flotsam and jetsam was already sorted from said scrapbook adventure.  I delegated one lovely basket per child for these memories.  One day, they may each even lay claim to these baskets. [One can only hope…]

This  array of baskets has found a home on the top shelf of the creative cave’s closet, tagged and ready for any new entries.

The final push of the week needed to be magazines, books and fabrics. After a  long neglected dusting of the bookshelf [I really do hate to dust!], some rearranging of lovely fabrics, and a thorough weeding through of  copious  publications, the chaos of the bookcase ended its reign and peace was restored to the kingdom of inspiration!  Current projects and hopefully soon to be tackled projects found their way into the hanging shelves in the closet.  Weaving and beading periodicals and books are now nestled between the hanging shelves and the scrapping boxes, all atop the cube.

Whew! That’s a lot!

Next week: Beads ‘r us….
